Truth and Non-violence

Awakening love for truth and non-violence in young minds!

We all know that elders always tell us to follow the path of truth.I don't need to say more about it cause we all are very experienced. These two factors are very essential in one's life.Recently before a month or so,a seminar was held in our school and I was one of the five speakers in that topic. We had divided the topic into five sections and I got to present my paper on-Awakening love for truth and non-violence in young minds.Gathering my own ideas and collecting some information from books based on life skills and values I prepared my topic. Here's all hat I spoke that day.I don't know why I am sharing it,but still for some reason I want to share it!

Truth and Non-violence can be obtained in a person,if the person has a sense of morality. If one lacks morality,he is not a human at all,he's an animal verily. If one doesn't have good character, there will be no morality in that person."Money comes and goes, but morality comes and grows".Wealth, power and other worldly things that we run for,all these possessions are transitory.
Morality has no form.If someone wishes to improve society and the world, then morality has to be developed in the individual. If unity among people is developed then there will be purity and purity in heart cannot be attained by mere education. So an individual should be taught of morality right from the childhood to awaken the love for truth and non-violence in his/her heart.
A child, after coming to the world starts learning each and every moment of his/her life.Gradually as man grows,he learns the basic values of life from the parents and family.Family often teaches to be good,do good and see good.He might not understand anything but still he is given examples of those learnings by stories and the child gets interested in these stories and starts to ponder over it.With this process, the brain of a child, which is the best in memorising things, remembers everything and so he remembers what is taught to him in this stage, for the rest of life.
After a few years, the child goes to school and is exposed to the outer-world,to the society. There,he gets introduced in a world of new people and new friends.Teachers in the school make them learn both morality and general education and both of these moral education and general education enables a being to cope with the society.
Parents' responsibilities in teaching doesn't finish by sending children to school.Parents have to make believe the things that their children are taught.Examples can be given through stories but the best thing is to act accordingly. As it is said-"Action speaks louder than words".A child learns from what he sees around him and the same thing reflects on his character.
Children should be awakened for loving truth, and non-violence right from their childhood and thus they being the future of the nation will rise and work for it.
The young and growing children, also play a role in this process. They don't need to be taught. They can teach themselves. They have a developing mind at this stage. They are neither just a child who only memorises things nor an adult who sees things from his/her point of view. They ponder over things more than a child because they take in things into our minds after experiencing and studying about the particular thing. They experimant on things and then only their brain accepts the fact is right or wrong.Sometimes due to their own wishes, they take things in the wrong way and so they also need the uidance of elders.Still we all should work for our nation and bring in the old formula of Gandhiji of being truthful and non-violent.After all OLD IS GOLD!!!
